You will enroll in classes for the fall semester. This will not require an official application at this point. This is for you to see which academic program is the right fit for you. You will continue to work at the Human Engineering Research Labs, meet with academic advisors, and identify your academic goals.
Beginning of August: Possible housing re-location, meeting with academic advisors, arranging study groups, identifying goal statements and plans
Mid-August: Buying books, setting up schedule at lab, etc.
End of August: Begin classes
PHASE III: INTEGRATION IN TO COLLEGE ENVIRONMENT:
You will apply for an academic program. The Community College of Allegheny County (as true with most community colleges) has an open enrollment policy so no matter what, you will be matriculated in to a degree-granting institution by the spring semester! If you choose to leave Pittsburgh, you may, but we will expect all participants to enroll in a college of their choice. We will encourage participants to remain in Pittsburgh through the end of the academic year (May 2010) to stay with their REEV cohort. We will continue to sponsor study sessions, social activities, and mentored support for all participants no matter where they end up. At the end of the semester, after REEV graduation, it is participants' choice of how they want to remain involved in the program. We will recommend REEV participants to serve as mentors for the new REEV class which will start the program in May 2010.
Mid-semester: Submit application to academic program of your choice
Beginning of January: Matriculate in to college
End of semester: "Graduate" from REEV
